This class explores the many ways to creatively and effectively use your feet as you work in Thai massage. We study and refine several critical techniques for working lateral and posterior leg lines, hips and back. We focus on ways to utilize sensing with the feet to detect energy blocks and pockets of tension, and we explore ways to ground ourselves while using feet in a standing position.
We also use the feet for gentle balancing and suspension poses that encourage tension and stress to leave our clients' bodies. The 4-day version of this popular workshop explores techniques and concepts that are extremely easy to perform, and that do not require muscle strength, since attention is based on using core strength from the hara or dantien. The techniques and concepts learned and practiced in this workshop allow smaller or shorter people to work on larger or taller people with great ease and effectiveness. Working with the feet allows the therapist to be very grounded and relaxed, and this relaxation is passed on to the receiver.
This is a popular workshop, open to advanced therapists and also beginners, and it can easily change the way you approach your work. Stop palming so much and avoid damage to your wrists. Use your feet more often!
